Newfoundland & Labrador Offers Good Work-Life Balance

Recently, there has been a great movement of creatives like artists into the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. These creatives have been migrating from urban centers in Canada like Vancouver.

CanadianVisaExpert stated that there are many reasons creatives are moving into these provinces. The number one reason is the excellent work-life balance these provinces offer. Other reasons are the moderate cost of living and the rugged beauty of these areas.

In all, creatives find their way to Newfoundland and Labrador because these regions boast an ecosystem built around arts.

Efforts of Government in Encouraging an Arts Ecosystem in Coastal Atlantic Canada

The Canadian government plays a vital role in encouraging an arts ecosystem in provinces like Newfoundland and Labrador. One of these efforts is funding young artists. Investing in affordable studio space is another. Other ways include holding arts-related competitions and staking institutions such as the Memorial University Art Gallery.

The CanadianVisaExpert reported that the unique environment and cheap cost of living in these regions serve to attract immigrants. These immigrants, in turn, stay because of the community and lifestyle support they get.

Some other initiatives help to enhance Newfoundland and Labrador’s attraction. One of these initiatives is the Fogo Island Arts, established in Fogo Island by Zita Cobb in 2008. One of the benefits of this organization is its offering of support for residency-based contemporary art program.
